Welcome to the new school year! As much as we miss the beginning of the year CA traditions (LS Ice Cream Social, Convocation, etc.), we are thrilled that our kids, faculty and staff are returning to learning together.
Since you are a CA parent/guardian, you are automatically a member of PACA. Your division (Lower School, Middle School, Upper School) lead parents will keep you in the loop with news in your respective division(s) and we will also update you of pertinent parent happenings as we all navigate through this unique school year.
You have received a flurry of emails in the last several days and we do not want to overwhelm you. This email is simply to send best wishes for a great start to the year from your PACA leadership and a few quick, yet important announcements and updates:
Setting Good Examples
As Melissa Soderberg wrote in CA’s Community Expectations statement, we must all commit to being safe by following CA’s health and wellness protocols. Our children, CA faculty and staff will be the ones on campus each day interacting with each other, but the health and wellness protocols must extend beyond campus. That starts with safe habits at home and outside school.
We are tremendously grateful that our kids are able to return to school thanks to the incredible hard work that CA has done. We do not want to see that return be short-lived, and so we are asking all of you to do your part. Thank you.
The faculty and staff have sent lots of helpful information explaining the health protocols and we encourage you to take some time to read it. Division parents are also a valuable resource for your questions.
In addition, we have created a Pandemic FAQs section on the PACA website. Please submit your question by clicking on the right tab of the FAQ section (Submit your Question). We will work to find an answer and then post it on the left tab (Submitted Q & As). We will not collect names of those submitting questions (the form asks for an email address, but that is not published).
Mark your calendars: Friday, October 9, Virtual Charlie David Dinner Auction
We’re very grateful our 800+ student athletes get to play this year! Although CA’s annual athletic fundraiser, the Charlie David Dinner, will take place virtually this year, our student athletes still need our support. The committee is working hard to create a stellar silent auction that will go live in early October. Stay tuned for more details in the upcoming weeks.
In the meantime, if you have a silent auction item to offer, please email charliedavid.paca by September 20th, 2020 with item details and value. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of our student athletes!
It’s great to be back!
In Viking Spirit,
Tracie and Joyce
