Dear Middle School Families,

We hope you and your students are off to great start this school year. We, Jennifer Salopek and Christina Jauchius, would like to introduce ourselves as the 2019-2020 Middle School Lead Parents. Periodically you will hear from us with information about middle school events or reminders of important dates. Grade specific information will come from the following Grade Parent volunteers:

8th Grade: Sara Romanelli (or one of us)
7th Grade: Ashley Holbrook and Kate Tiwari
6th Grade: Toni Maroo

As it is no longer necessary to request advisory parent volunteers, we will be forming grade parent teams to assist with grade activities during the year. If you would have an interest in volunteering with one of the grade teams, please let us know. There are lots of fun ways to participate and great schedule flexibility.

Upcoming Key Dates

Prior to the start of school, you should have received an email from Mr. Arnold with a very helpful Middle School Key Calendar Dates document. Please note that this document will be posted to the MS section of the Family Resources Page on the CA website. We would like to remind you of a few key dates coming up:

August 30 8th Grade Summit Vision Field Trip
September 2 Labor Day (no school)
September 4 Back to School Night (7:00)
September 18 8th Grade Community Meeting (6:30)
September 20 Charlie David Dinner (5:00, see below)
September 24 6th Grade Community Meeting (6:30)
September 26 7th Grade Community Meeting (6:30)
September 30 Fall Holiday (no school)

Please note a change for this year:

Charlie David Dinner

Save the date for the 37th annual Charlie David Dinner taking place in the dining hall on Friday, September 20th from 5:00pm-7:30pm prior to the varsity home football game. You’ll soon receive additional details regarding how to purchase sponsorships and/or tickets to the dinner.

This is CA’s only athletic program fundraiser of the year and it’s a family-friendly event for all ages. We look forward to seeing you there in your Viking attire!

Viking Corner

The Viking Corner will be open Wednesdays 8:00 – 4:00. You can purchase spirit wear and PE uniforms there or online (https://www.vikingcorner.org/).
PACA is looking for volunteers to help out in the Viking Corner. If you are interested, please contact VikingCorner.

Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Go Vikes!

Sincerely,
Christina and Jennifer
