Hope everyone is staying warm and cozy on this cold, gray Sunday. Following are some important details on two exciting events that are happening in the Upper School!
Food Truck Fridays:
What was once a Senior only event, is now an all US perk! Your students are already blissfully aware of this, but we just wanted to keep parents in the loop. Every Friday from now until after Spring Break, a different food truck will park in the MS carpool circle from 12:00 – 1:30pm. Preorders are available through StreetFoodFinder.com the Wednesday before. Please note that this is not a replacement for the school boxed lunch that will still be provided. This is just a fun alternative to packing/school lunches! Payment is required.
Upcoming Trucks:1/29 Late Night Slice; 2/5 Tortilla Street Food, 2/19 Pitabilities
“Adopt a Senior” Program:
Sign ups are moving along at a steady pace. Early feedback from the Seniors is that they are excited about the prospect of being adopted! A couple questions/concerns regarding this program that we would like to address:
“Will each Senior get adopted?” YES! No senior left behind!
“I want to do it, but I don’t know any Senior really well” No worries! Adopt anyway! As a matter of fact, this is not an original idea of ours (shocking, I know) and most schools put it out to the greater non-school community where perfect strangers adopt. We don’t need to do that because we have a strong, supportive and caring CA community that cares about our Seniors. Don’t forget, there is also an option for us to choose a Senior for you.
“There may be an inequity of gifting” Yes, this may happen because we all know that life isn’t fair, but our intentions are pure. We simply want to pair excited seniors with equally excited families. As we said before, our community is strong and we care about each other. We also want to help support the program by reminding adopted families of important events through the remainder of the academic year where it may be appropriate to reach out to the “Senior adoptee”.
