On October 23rd, 24th, and 25th the CA Service Department will once again set up a Clothing Exchange POP UP shop in the theater lobby to coincide with conferences. Gently used dress code clothing from the Clothing Exchange Closet will be on display for families. There will also be large bins for dress code clothing donations. This is a community event based on sustainability and responsibility. We encourage all CA families to pick up items and/or donate. Feel free to contact Service Department faculty reps Sarah Hansen (hansens) or Sarah Penney (penneys) with any questions.
Kids 4 Kids Service Learning Project: Food Drive (Oct. 28 – Nov. 14), Clothing Drive (Nov. 4 – Nov. 12)
The start to our annual, school-wide food and clothing drive is in one week. Clean out those pantries and closets to donate items to the service learning project. Please click here for details on how to donate and/or volunteer! You will find information on what you can donate to both the food drive and the clothing drive, how to “Fill-A-Wish” for the members of our sponsored families, and how our volunteers make this drive a success.
Thank you for your help! If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly Allison at kimberlyga.
Parent Education Thursdays:
PACA is proud to announce its first of three Parent Education evening programs for the 2019-2020 year.
Please join us in the Dining Hall on Thursday November 21st at 630pm for “Flourishing, Real Time” with Dr Suzanne Ritter and Michelle Schroeder-Lowery. As you may have heard, Suzanne and Michelle have been working on integrating their training in Positive Psychology within the faculty and staff, we are excited to have them share practical tools and experiences for integrating into our parent experience at CA. A light supper will be available.
Details and additional resources are available here. https://www.vikingparents.org/parent-education/
Please RSVP to cavikingparents by November 15. Day care is available, please indicate how many and ages of your children needing care.
And one new addition to PACA Parent Ed: Flourishing Fridays will take place the first Friday of each month. After drop off, enjoy a cup of coffee and breakfast snack before joining with fellow parents to walk Hondros Track for an opportunity to exercise, connect and hopefully, flourish! No RSVP needed for Flourishing Fridays. Hope to see you on both November 1st and November 21st.
