(US) PACA Upper School News 09/23/2019



The CA campus saw quite a busy few days. Some events were unfortunately impacted by the weather, while others went on as planned. Sports galore, the Hola Tailgate, Viking Rampage, Alumni events…oh my! One of the largest events of the weekend was the Charlie David Dinner. Following is a message from the CDD organizers:

The Charlie David Dinner 2019 was a huge success! Thank you to those who organized, volunteered, attended, shopped, bid and had fun supporting the event giving lift to our 62 sports teams.   • Monday, September 30th: Fall Holiday – No School. Although school is out, if your student is involved in a fall sport, please have them check with their coach to see if a practice has been scheduled

  • Wednesday, October 2nd, 8am: PACA Parent Forum in the Dining Hall. See below for details on a whole new spin on the PACA Forum

Join us for Wander Wednesday!

What the heck is a Forest Friday in the Lower School? Let’s find out together – but on a Wednesday, instead! We’re kicking the traditional PACA meeting to the curb and embracing our inner child.

On Wednesday, October 2nd, bring your friends as we hit the CA trails to take in the sights of our scenic campus with Mark Hansen, Head of Lower School.

We will meet in the Dining Hall at 8am to grab coffee and listen to a quick intro from Mr. Hansen before we head outside.

  • Senior Celebration for Sports Teams:

Senior nights for fall sports have been added to the calendar. Please join the CA community on these nights to honor the senior players and their athletic accomplishments.

  • CA Apple Picking: School-Wide Service Event on Sept 29

Join the Columbus Academy Student Service Board for the very popular Apple Picking Service Event at Lynd Fruit Farm in Pataskala on Sunday, September 29, from 11:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m.Pick a bag for your family and one (or more) to donate to local food pantries. Again this year, prices are $15 for small bags and $25 for large bags. Families from all divisions are encouraged to attend! (Click here for more details)

The theme of PACA’s Parent Education this year is Flourish! The programming focuses on positive psychology research. All events will be held in the Dining Hall. Save the date!
