Charlie David Dinner

The Charlie David Dinner 2019 was a huge success! Thank you to those who organized, volunteered, attended, shopped, bid and had fun supporting the event giving lift to our 62 sports teams. For a glimpse of the fun that took place, visit the photo gallery located here: https://www.vikingparents.org/events-calendar/charlie-david-dinner/

MS FIELD TRIPS

Each grade has an exciting field trip this month! You should have received trip details and authorization forms from your respective faculty team leader. Please complete and return any required forms at your earliest convenience.

In appreciation for the chaperones who make these wonderful trips possible for our students, we will provide a “to go” dinner for them upon their return to school. More information about how you can participate will be coming from your respective grade parents. We thank you in advance for your help! 😊

CA GIRLS LACROSSE CLINIC 🥍

From JoAnne Adams, PE Department Chair:

Our campus is hosting a free girls lacrosse clinic for all Columbus Academy girls in grades 1-8 on Sunday, October 13.

Alexis Venechanos, the former head women’s lacrosse coach at Ohio State who currently holds the same position at Otterbein University, will be teaching lacrosse skills and concepts as part of her goal to get young women interested in lacrosse. A session for girls in grades 1-5 will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by a session for our middle school girls from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Anyone interested can register at https://www.mflevents.com/free-columbus-academy-girls-lacrosse-clinic.

Players should bring their own lacrosse sticks, if they have them, but our PE department also has a limited number of sticks that players can borrow for the day. If you are interested in borrowing a stick, please email me at adams.

PACA Youth Basketball 🏀

For both girls and boys in 4th-6th grade, PACA has announced this year’s plans for the winter PACA Youth Sports basketball season.

Details are here with a signup link to register to attend a try-out session on either Oct 19th or 20th.

The season begins in November and runs through mid-February.

Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Christina Jauchius (P ’24, P’25), cmjauchius
Jennifer Salopek (P’24), jcs
