CHARLIE DAVID DINNER
Friday, October 14th 5:00-7:30
Come out and support Academy athletics by joining the CA community at the Charlie David Dinner Friday, October 14th. After dinner you can walk down to Hondros field to watch Academy football vs Bexley at 7pm. For those new to this event, this is a great way to support the school athletic teams. Additionally, we will have pom-poms available for any middle schooler to go and cheer on the Vikes!
The Charlie David Site is LIVE!
Click the link below for more information, purchase dinner tickets, support a team sport, fulfill a wish, purchase a sponsorship, and there’s even a parking spot raffle!
We’re collecting donations for this year’s gift card tree. To ensure everyone’s a winner, we’re looking for donations of gift cards starting at $25 denominations. Then, at Charlie David, try your luck at the tree and you could win up to $500! Two easy options to donate:
Virtual: Visit charliedavid.paca
Drop-off: via backpack express or every Friday until Oct 14 at Hondros Field from 7:45 – 8:30 AM.
The start to our annual, school-wide service learning project, Kids 4 Kids, begins Monday, October 17 with the food drive. Food donations can be dropped off by students in the boxes located in each classroom/advisory. On Monday, October 31 there will be carts at each carpool drop-off for all the clothing drive donations. FYI, you may donate more than just clothes, so please check out the link below. For example, You CAN donate gently-used fall/winter clothing, toys, books, and bedding.
The Kids 4 Kids page on the PACA website (under Programs) provides all the details you need to know. You will find all the information on what you can donate to both the food drive and the clothing drive, how to “Fill-A-Wish” for the members of our sponsored families, and how our volunteers make this drive a success.
**The 6th and 7th Grades also need a little help with the food drive, and this year we would love to have a few parents help us guide the kids. Please click on this SignUp Genius link to volunteer, or contact us for more information.
Thank you for your help. We can’t do this without you! If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly Allison at kimberlyga or Ria Forchione at riaforchione.
GRADE TRIPS
All 3 middle school grades are going on trips in October! If you haven’t already gotten information on these, you will soon.
CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN
Monday, October 31st
Kids are welcome to come to school in costume – no masks, no makeup please! – and remember they do have to attend school all day (so ideally the costume won’t limit their ability to do so). More information will be coming.
MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCES
Friday, November 4th
6th at CSG 700-900pm
7th / 8th at Wellington 730-930pm
Casual dress! Often the schools have concession stands so you might want to send your child with a small amount of money. You will get more information at a later date regarding exact details for pickup / drop off.
SKI CLUB
It’s exciting the see the school’s interest in Ski Club! By now you should have received an email regarding your child’s status. If you haven’t, please check your spam and promotional folders for an email from Kristin Alexander. If there are any changes in the roster or waitlist, you will be notified as soon as possible.
