Middle School and Upper School Programming
Several upper school students have offered to restart a program with middle-schoolers this winter called Bridges and Connections, a program that bonds middle and upper school students together through fun activities after school and strives to give middle-schoolers a chance to – in a fun and informal way – connect with and build relationships with older Academy students. The sessions will happen once a month from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on campus and will include a plethora of activities led by upper school mentors. The first meeting is this Friday, February 3, and students were given the opportunity to learn about the program and sign up last week during middle school assembly. For this first meeting, we will be in the Crane Outdoor Learning Center with s’mores, hot chocolate, board games and a Jenga competition. Our student leaders are David Werstler ’24 and Alivia Schultz ’24. Dr. Andy Bezant and Gwen Nzimiro will serve as faculty advisors to the program; please contact them if you have questions.
Grade 6 Social at Columbus Academy
Next Friday, February 10, we will host the sixth grade social event in the Jones Gymnasium from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Dropoff and pickup will be at the athletics entrance. The event costs $5 per student (view flyer and permission slip) and snacks will be available for purchase. Signed permission slips should be submitted to the middle school office no later than the morning of February 10 in order to attend.
Grades 7-8 Social at CSG
Next Friday, Columbus School for Girls will host a social for grades 7-8. The cost is $5 for students (view flyer and permission slip). Again, signed permission slips should be returned to the middle school office no later than the morning of February 10.
