Event Impacts

The Charlie David Dinner (CDD) is a Columbus Academy tradition! This annual event is named in honor of a dedicated parent who, 38 years ago, organized and hosted a pre-game chicken dinner for Academy students and parents during the football season. The event has grown throughout the years and continues to be one that everyone in the Academy community — whether parent/guardian, faculty/staff, student or extended family — can participate in and ENJOY.

Today, this “chicken dinner” is the cornerstone of financial support for ALL Columbus Academy athletic programs. In 2019, the event raised almost $70,000 to support the sixty-one 7th-12th grade teams that Columbus Academy fields each year.

The evening includes a meal, silent auction, raffle ticket sales, and fun activities for kids organized by CA Upper School students in the CA gym. We hope to see all CA families and students at this casual, family-friendly event and appreciate your generosity and support!
