Charlie David 2021

Volunteer to help at The Charlie David Dinner

A great way to meet other parents of all divisions!

The Charlie David Dinner (CDD) is a Columbus Academy tradition! This annual event is named in honor of a dedicated parent who, 40+ years ago, organized and hosted a pre-game chicken dinner for Academy students and parents during the football season. The event has grown throughout the years and continues to be one that everyone in the Academy community — whether parent/guardian, faculty/staff, student or extended family — can participate in and ENJOY.

Today, this “chicken dinner” is the cornerstone of financial support for ALL Columbus Academy athletic programs. The evening includes a meal, silent auction, raffle ticket sales, and fun activities for kids organized by CA Upper School students in the CA gym.

We hope to see all CA families and students at this casual, family-friendly event on Friday, October 1. We appreciate your generosity and support.

All Academy families are invited to the 39th Annual Charlie David Dinner, a fun, community-building tailage event that will take place prior to the home varsity football game Friday, October 1. This year’s parent-driven fundraising dinner for the athletics department promises to be unlike any other, with new food options (including Broke Johnny Food Truck, City BBQ, Fired Up Pizza, Pitabilities Food Truck and Raising Cane’s Chicken) and fun activities for kids from our Upper School student-run clubs. You won’t want to miss it! Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for kids. Purchase sponsorship, meal and raffle tickets in advance at

In 2020, the Charlie David Dinner committee successfully launched an online event due to the pandemic and raised over $64,000 to support the 60+ 6th-12th grade Columbus Academy athletic teams!
